Some other photos from Paris: these are the Miriam's one made the last night in Paris. Inevitable moment of nostalgia.....sigh. The place is a pub in the fifth district, "Rue Muffetard" zone. That part of Paris was my home for the last 2 months in the night. Amazing beer and atmosphere. As you can see, we were pratically perfect in stupid attitudes.

It's a long time since i haven't published new posts, due to the busy days and the laziness in the spare time. First I had the exams, and the day before were really full of study. Then I've started a non-stop party - to profit the best I can of the last days here in Paris. Yes, because the 30th of june the erasmus will be over, and I'll have to come back to Italy. I don't feel well at the idea, and I know the next year will be really hard and stressing. But on another side I feel that I have to close a chapter of my life. Only doing this I will be able to start again - this time definitively outside Italy. I've lot of friends that I will leave here, and other that are already returned to their country. It's sad but it's also one of the big treasure that i'll bring with me, I hope for a long time. In the last days i've done lot of cool parties and evenings, specially with french people (finally...it's never too late). I've known lot of crazy and sympathic french girls, like Alix, Ioana, Amandine. I'm really happy that I'll find nice people when I'll be back in Paris. I've also known, through them, two american girls, Guin and Devon, wich whom I've passed a great weekend - ended with a wonderful dawn on the Seine. I hope to will be able to stay in contact with all of them....that's one of my main wishes.
Another important news is that i've known another french girl, Maud, that plays the piano and - the important thing - we're both on the same musical frequences. This event made me think about the possibility of a collaboration between me and her, for my musical project that's coming to light. I will record my first demo this summer, and I've proposed her to help me with it. She will work on my ideas, and she will propose her ideas to me so that i can work on it - all of this through internet (that's maybe the greatest aspect of modern technologies - the possibility to comunicate and realize a thing like this). I'm passing lot of times composing and working on my ideas in the last period. I have often lot of inspiration, and I've to profit of it before the stress of the next months will attack my brain.
For the rest, there's the travel in Germany that waits for me on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it, also if I'm really good here in Paris and I would love to have more days here before leaving. The day after I'll be back, my parents will come and then, it means that this great time in this city, it's really finished.

This has been the week of the Soirées nomades, the evenements organized by David Lynch in the context of his exhibition at the Fondation Cartier. Unfortunatly, of the 3 evenings for whom I had the tickets, I was able to attend only 2, cause the Barry Adamson's concert of this evening has been cancelled due to the damn tempest that is started just one hour ago.
But let's start for the beginning.

Premiere soirée - 20/5/2007

The first one was sunday evening, the concert of Julee Cruise with the Pluramon as support band. Me and Timo we had to wait outside, in the line, two fuckin' hours under the rain, because of the weather (yes, Paris it's not exactly like Italy is under this point of view). So, the concert initially previewed outside in the garden, was moved to the underground of the fondation, in the little theatre - rebuilt from the original set of Eraserhead, and rounded by all the Lynch's photographies and paintings. The perfect place for this show.
But, but....when we were waiting outside with the ticket in the hand.....
I was at the telephone with a french friend and I see all the people in front of me clapping and smiling, making lot of noise. They're all looking behind of me. I didn't know what the hell was going on, so I turn myself and i see, I SEE DAVID LYNCH WITH A BIG SMILE AT 5 CM FROM ME!!!!
I was totally shocked and I had to interrupt my call. I saw David entering in the crowd directly to the concert hall. Then I look Timo in the face without saying a word.

The concert was simply great. This band, Pluramon, makes a kind of dream-rock following My Bloody Valentine's lesson, but with a personal touch of electronic, and noise influences from Sonic Youth. And Julee has the voice of an angel...i knew this from the Twin Peak's classic songs, but listening "live" to it is a completely different things. She's totally crazy on the set, she's acting, sometimes just like a mimo. After one hour of Pluramon songs, she offers to the public, for the best ending, what all the people wanted: the Twin Peaks theme, "Falling", and another song from the TV serie. A highly emotional moment, wonderful.
Then, when the people is still applauding, I saw at one corner David with the bodyguards going away. I start running through the crowd to reach him, and when he was already in the elevator, I was pratically reaching him but a fucking couple of spanish arrives before me....I didn't have the possibility to talk with him, or to make a photo togheter, but I was able to do some photos of him solo. I won't have anymore, in this week, another occasion.

Deuxieme soirée - 23/5/2007

For the wednesday evening was originally expected an audio-visual conference by Michael Chion, a french filmaker and sound expert; this program was changed in a sound performance of Dean Hurley, the sound designer of Lynch, and the projection of Eraserhead in a remastered version. The show was 20 minutes long, and i didn't really like it.It Was quite boring and not so impressive. I love the sound work of this man on Lynch's production, I think it's really great - but the live aspect was not good at all. Strange.
The film, instead, was w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l. Seeing this masterpiece in the little theatre rebuilt for the occasion, was something really cool. The sound was perfect, and the quality of the remastering was excellent. There were lot of people, but unfortunatly not the only one that I was waiting for: David. Another time, maybe.

In the last days I've found myself addicted. I have started to see all the episodes of X-Files, from the first season - and it's incredible how can affect you like a heavy drug. The problem is that it's not Twin Peaks, that has "only" 30 episodes. Here, only the first season has 24 episodes. And the complete serie has 9 season. I've watched something like 12 episodes in the last three days. My social life is wasted. And it will be worse, and worse.....

I've discovered on the net some photos of the Lynch's exhibition in the Fondation Cartier. I was quite surprise cause was strictly forbidden to use cameras and take photos, I wasn't able to do them (ok, ok, I've done some photos but I was hidden and helped by Stefano....). Actually, I don't care at all and I publish these ones. Also if I've found them in a private blog, I think they're publicity photos, cause there was Lynch too.

Yesterday there was Jerry's birthday (my flatmate), at Livia's, here in the Marais. It was with a dress-code, as you can see from the photos. I took really few photos cause my battery was soon over, and they are quite shitty because of the low-light - and my idiosyncrasy with flash in the digital cameras. These are the "best" ones.

Today was the first day of concrete spring, here in Paris. A wonderful day. The air was fresh under a warm sun, pratically perfect. Me and Diana we' ve done a big walk through Saint Germain and the Quartier Latin, and we finished, at the dusk, at the top of the Jardin Des Plantes. It's a nice and elegant park in the heart of the 5th arrondissment. We've profited for doing photos, of course. Here are some of Paris....

I'm sad that Stefano has come back home. It was an incredible week, full-full-full of things. Going around Paris, my first trip to London (and the c-o-n-c-e-r-t), the David Lynch's exhibition, two nices evening with Diana. And a broken dream, at least.

Yesterday evening (uhmm, now is two evening ago...maybe I have to go to bed?) was a really nice one. Me and Diana we went to a chic restaurant on Ile Saint-Louis, like two real "parisiens", dressed perfectly....we eat well, and we laughed a lot...specially in the way to the restaurant when we tried to survive under the rain with a 5 euro chinese umbrella completely broken. Too much funny! And before, we have maken some photos of us in those dresses...
