The second appointment with Reznor was much more than I would ever imaginated: PURE DESTRUCTION. Two hours, something less, of the most cruel pogo I've ever done, right in the first lines, 2-3 metres from the band. I was looking Trent in the eyes when I was singing with 4000 persons "GOD IS DEAD", from "Heresy". An unforgettable moment. He has played quite all The Downward Spiral, and lot of Broken....the confirmation that he has found again in himself the holy anger, the old furios anger of the past. All the band played perfectly as usual, despite of some problems of voice of Trent (he has postponed a concert, the day before that one).
The classic moment of violence were all respected, from "Burn" to "Wish", "Somewhat Damaged", "Survivalism" (that confirms his great live attitude) and "Head Like a Hole".
And the moments of spleen, of course.... "The Day the world Went Away","Hurt","Eraser","Piggy" have brought the brilliance of the sound directly in my vein. I want to spend a word also for the place: the Carling Brixton Academy is the most-beautiful-place-for-a-concert I've ever seen!! A perfect mixture beetween elegance and underground, a monumental structure with a huge set. Stefano couldn't believe in his eyes, because this was the first big concert for him and he has started with THE concert.....both of us we have felt a dionisiac experience, that's sure. Look at the photos and see how many fucking' persons were there!! The photo of Trent and Aaroon was taken by Rob Sheridan, the official photographer of the band (not bad like crew member eh?) And the last one, is a nice logo we founded in Portobello Road the day before. See you soon, Reznor...in the meanwhile, I'm looking forward to the new album, that is becoming more and more interesting.
